What Is an Intense Pulse Light (IPL Photofacial) Treatment?

Intense Pulse Light (IPL Photofacial) utilizes a broad band of light of different wavelengths to target and treat multiple skin conditions at once. This treatment is highly effective for treating pigment problems as well as texture problems in your skin.

Pigment problems such as brown spots from acne and sun damage, blotchy red spots from broken capillaries, or rosacea can be effectively treated with Intense Pulse Light at Pine & River Aesthetics.

Texture problems such as wrinkles and enlarged pores can also be targeted and treated. The overall result is smoother skin with improved skin tone and complexion.

What Can I Expect After Intense Pulse Light Treatment?

Downtime after Intense Pulse Light Treatment typically involves 3-5 days of redness that resembles a sunburn. Dark spots usually darken during that period and will begin to flake off.

A series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is usually recommended. Any pain associated with this treatment is minimal and controlled with topical anesthesia.

What is RF Microneedling?

Microneedling stimulates collagen production by creating small wounds in the skin, that help promote natural healing, revealing a smoother, younger complexion. Radiofrequency microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to rejuvenate the skin more deeply.

Tiny needles crease controlled injuries to the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Simultaneously, radiofrequency energy is delivered into the skin, heating the tissues to further enhance collagen production and skin tightening.

At Pine & River Aesthetics, we offer RF microneedling procedures with different devices, including the Legend Pro and Morpheus 8. We also provide SmoothGlo, which combines RF Microneedling and Intense Pulse Light treatments.

What Is the Legend Pro RF Microneedling Device?

The Legend Pro microneedling device is typically used for more superficial skin concerns. This is an excellent device for mild acne scarring, mild skin texture concerns, treatments of large pores, and fine lines.

Healing time is typically 5-7 days of mild scabbing and redness. Pain with this procedure is minimal and is controlled with topical anesthesia. A series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for most patients.

What Is the Morpheus 8 RF Microneedling Device?

Morpheus 8 is another radiofrequency microneedling device. This device is ideal for those patients who need a little stronger or deeper treatment.

It is ideal for those with skin laxity, moderate to severe acne scarring, wrinkles, dullness, or large pores. Downtime is typically 5-7 days, and it includes a period of redness, mild bruising, and scabbing.

Pro Nox and topical anesthetic are included for pain management with this procedure. For best results, a series of 3 treatments every 4-6 weeks is typically recommended.

What Is the SmoothGlo™ Treatment?

The SmoothGlo treatment combines Intense Pulse Light and RF microneedling with the Legend Pro device. IPL targets those pesky dark spots and redness, while RF microneedling addresses skin texture, wrinkles, and many other skin concerns.

Combined treatment modalities provide the most optimal results. This procedure requires 5-7 days of downtime. A series of 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart is recommended.

What is Lumenis ResurFX™ Fractional Resurfacing?

The ResurFX fractional laser is a state-of-the-art, non-ablative skin resurfacing technology. Non-ablative means it does not destroy or ablate the skin cells, while fractional means it only affects a fraction, or small percentage, of the skin.

A benefit of ResurFX is that you can get great results with minimal recovery time, unlike the CO2 laser, which causes several days or more of peeling, crusting, and significant swelling after the procedure. The fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin.

Stimulating new collagen production is the key to radiant, youthful-looking skin. With the ResurFX technology, you can achieve excellent clinical results over a sequence of treatments while keeping your comfort maximal and downtime minimal.

ResurFX is excellent for targeting hyperpigmentation (dark spots), melasma, stretch marks, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, and overall skin texture.

What Can I Expect From a Skin Treatment?

The skin treatments we offer at Pine & River Aesthetics help correct fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, melasma, skin texture issues, acne, acne scarring, surgical scars, broken capillaries, redness, uneven complexion, rosacea, and skin laxity.

Procedures usually take about one hour, followed by 5-7 days of downtime. Redness, swelling, minor bruising, and small scabs can be common after these procedures. After the first 24-48 hours, most of these side effects are able to be covered with makeup. The number of treatments required varies from person to person. Schedule a free consultation with one of our providers to develop your custom treatment plan!
